Carolinas HealthCare revamps mission, vision statements

Carolinas HealthCare System, based  in Charlotte, N.C.,  has presented  new mission and vision statements.

The health system said the new statements “reinforce the importance of the organization’s role in the community and reflect the deep and long-standing relationship between the region’s largest healthcare provider and the patients it serves.”

“As I spoke with and listened to the system’s staff and leadership as well as many community leaders, it became clear that it was time to better reflect the heart of the organization as well as our future,” said Gene Woods, Carolinas HealthCare System president and CEO.

Carolinas HealthCare System’s former mission statement was “to create and operate a comprehensive system to provide healthcare and related services, including education and research opportunities, for the benefit of the people we serve.” The organization’s former vision statement was “Carolinas HealthCare System will be recognized nationally as a leader in the transformation of healthcare delivery and chosen for the quality and value of services we provide.”

Carolinas HealthCare System’s new mission statement is “to improve health, elevate hope and advance healing — for all.” The organization’s new vision statement is “to be the first and best choice for care.”
