Hospital CEOs’ pay continues to surge

Hospital CEOs continue to get astronomical  compensation and huge pay raises, as the boards of these institutions, mostly of similarly rich people, take care of their people.

Many  of these hospitals are allegedly “nonprofit,” which as one wag noted simply means that these big businesses don’t pay taxes.

There’s growing consumer anger about this compensation orgy,  which comes as even insured patients have to pay more and more of huge medical bills. Of course, those bills are huge in part because America physicians are paid much, much more than physicians in any other advanced industrialized nation — almost all of which have better overall health outcomes than America has.
