”Granite’s five systems—Catholic Medical Center, Manchester; Concord (N.H.) Hospital; LRGHealthcare, Laconia; Southern New Hampshire Health System, Nashua; and Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, Dover—will make up the core of the new insurance company’s provider network, which will also include other systems,” Modern Healthcare reported.Another recent example of the urge to cooperate if not to merge, and as noted by Modern Healthcare:
Tandigm Health, Innovative Wellness Alliance and Holy Redeemer Health System, all Pennsylvania-based, announced in February that ”they’ll share the risk of managing patients in hopes of getting closer to a population health model. Unlike the Tufts deal, the three organizations there did not engage in a joint venture or merger.”
