Judge blocks N.J. hospital from taking over city’s paramedic services

Share this:

A New Jersey Superior Court judge  ruled that a state  law that let Cooper University Hospital  take over emergency medical services in the city of Camden is unconstitutional. The judge ordered Gov. Chris Christie’s administration not to implement the statute.

Legislation enacted last the summer let  Cooper University Hospital take over life-support services from rival Virtua Health System.

But Virtua sued the state after the bill was passed. Cooper will appeal  the decision.
