National Nurses United is calling for strikes at the University of Chicago Medical Center and eight California hospitals  after fights  with management  about better staffing and patient care.

NNU tends to be far less collaborative than the Service Employees International Union, which also represents many people in the healthcare sector. As income inequality  and middle-class insecurity continue to rise, look for more combativeness.
