Vanderbilt University Medical Center, in Nashville, is pushing an initiative to bring independent hospitals in Tennessee into a single network, The Tennessean reports.
The initiative, Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network, aims to improve care in the Volunteer State by reconsidering how patients access care, helping employers manage insurance costs, improving clinical outcomes and improving population health.
C. Wright Pinson, M.D., and chief executive of Vanderbilt Health System, told The Tennessean that the network heavily uses big data to track results on a large scale.
