Residents accept the telemedicine age

Veteran physicians have been standoffish about using telemedicine to treat patients, be it by conference call, Skype or some other electron-rich device. But ┬ámost new physicians seem happy to use it, says a Medscape report that discussed residents’ attitudes on a range of topics, such as work-life balance.

In any event, medical economics and accelerating technological changes mean that physicians will have little choice but to increasingly use telemedicine. For one thing, the insurers will demand it to save money.
