The advocacy group Healthcare for All says that  the big insurers Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Harvard Pilgrim and Tufts Health Plan should all improve their price transparency as required by state law.

The group  asserted that  their cost-estimating Web sites don’t help consumers make clinically and economically informed choices.

HCFA Executive Director Amy Whitcomb Slemmer told The Boston Globe. “Not one [of the Web sites] was intuitive.”
