New model for predicting timing of death after admission

A new tool that uses routinely collected administrative data accurately predicts adult patients’ longer-term mortality after a nonpsychiatric hospital admission, says a validation study published online June 8 in the Canadian Medical Association Journal

The new model joins several other points-based models that predict risk of death among hospital patients.
