Cambridge Management Group was very happy to learn that   CMG senior adviser and partner Amelia (Lia)  Spiliotes has been named permanent chief executive officer of Community Health Programs (CHP), a large Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), with services across much of western Massachusetts.

She has been acting CEO of CHP, based in Pittsfield, for a year. She previously served as interim CEO of another FQHC — Community Health Connections (CHC),  in Fitchburg, Mass., as part of a CMG engagement there.

In Fitchburg,  she led a team to successfully restructure operations, enhance clinical-service delivery and improve financial performance.

CHP chairwoman Jodi Rathbun-Briggs,  told The Berkshire Eagle newspaper about the decision to hire Ms. Spiliotes on a permanent basis: “She got us out of a tough time, got the team working together, and showed an ability during her interim status to make change and change for the positive.”

Ms. Spiliotes has more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry.  Besides  the managed-care and community-health-center sectors, she has worked in health-information technology, the pharmaceutical industry and investment banking.

She has a particularly well known expertise in helping to create risk-management programs for Medicare populations.
