Stressed physicians and what to do about it

anxious

Psychologist Catherine Hambley, Ph.D., writing in Physicians Practice, says 71 percent of physicians don’t have enough time for their personal lives and more than half of the respondents to the 2016 Great American Physician survey said that they had a poor life-work balance.

Dr. Hambley, commenting on the survey’s results, said that most physicians work  41 to  60 hours a week and some put in more than 80. Many  would like to cut their work hours. Indeed, 61 percent said they would consider part-time if they could.

Dr. Hambley, in her piece, lays out steps for physicians to reduce stress.
