Electronic Medical Assistant

The Miami Herald reports that Modernizing Medicine, the Boca Raton-based creator of the Electronic Medical Assistant, a specialty-specific electronic-medical-record system, Monday that has closed a $38 million Series E venture financing, bringing total capital raised to about $87 million.

In August was named to the Inc. 500 list. It was also one of the first early-stage companies to partner with IBM Watson. Modernizing Medicine’s Electronic Medical Assistant, or EMA, provides a specialty-specific EMR system used by more than 6,000  U.S. healthcare providers.

Watch this company. Perhaps it will cut into the likes of EPIC.
