Grim report on hospital job turnover, attrition

Leaders for Today (LFT) conducted a survey of more than 850 people regarding  job motivations, actions and plans of  people in the healthcare industry.

LFT reported: “With a focus on C-suite, clinical administration, non-clinical administration, physician and nursing positions, the survey details a surprising state of turnover and attrition, with a waning pool of qualified candidates.”

The survey found that hospitals generally have slow hiring processes, causing them to lose promising candidates.

Almost nearly half of  the respondents said that they plan to stop working within the next 10 years and 22 percent expect to retire within five years.

Hospitals are “losing critical employees faster than they can replace them” and the “average hospital has hundreds of open positions at any one time,” Bill Haylon, CEO of Leaders for Today, said.

The survey’s findings also found a crowded online {job} posting market, which LFR found ineffective in healthcare.
